A Few Weight Loss tips...
OFFLINE

Posted On 09/02/2009 12:37:02 by GinaCarter

In this article, we will discuss some healthy weight loss secrets that will allow you to get rid of unwanted pounds while also improving your overall state of being! Just a few healthy living tips that not only work, but actually make sense.

Some weight loss plans do not take "NATURE" into consideration. If you become fixated on the goal of losing weight at any cost, you may end up turning to diet pills, crash diets or expensive surgery. In some cases, such extreme measures may be necessary for medical reasons; (that is not what I am discussing here.) This advice is for people who are overweight but not facing a medical emergency.

Increasing Everyday Activity

Increasing the amount of physical activity you get on a daily basis is a great place to start when it comes to natural, healthy weight loss. Too many people nowadays have become seduced into a sedentary lifestyle that involves driving everywhere, taking elevators or escalators instead of stairs, hiring out for jobs that require outdoor work like gardening or lawn care, and staying at home in front of the television or computer instead of taking a walk outdoors.

Even if you sit at a desk every day, there are opportunities to get more exercise.

Try to fit in an hour's worth of walking every day. This doesn't even have to be all at once. You could, for example, take a walk early in the morning, during your lunch hour, at work, and after dinner. If you can take a longer walk at one point, even better. Gradually increase your pace.

Eat Healthier Snacks

Healthier snacks is a good way to get used to better eating habits. Instead of soda, candy bars, high sugar energy bars or drinks, chips and so forth, try sunflower seeds, almonds, carrots, pumpkin seeds or dried fruits.

Some other tips –drink water instead of so-called energy drinks; green tea or hoodia instead of coffee; trail mix instead of packaged, oversalted chips or pretzels.

Think Quality as Well as Quantity

When it comes to eating, both quality and quantity are important. One way natural or healthy weight loss differs from more conventional approaches is that it has you focus on the quality of your calories at least as much as the number. Not all calories are equal. Healthy fats, high quality carbs and all natural (or, even better, organic) vegetables, gains and meats are not only healthier for you, they allow your body to burn fat more efficiently.

Some tips to think of when shopping, cooking or ordering out – consume multigrain breads and pastas rather than white flour-based; organic fruits and vegetables (these can be frozen as well as fresh; check the natural foods section of your supermarket); natural or organic animal products, which are additive free.

If you get more activity, reduce your caloric intake in a sensible (rather than extreme) way and focus on eating high quality, natural foods, you will find that your body starts to move towards its optimum weight.
